CameraMatics
Meet Challenges Head on with CameraMatics
The old proverb ‘seeing is believing’ has become engrained in the ethos of our CameraMatics identity, shaping the company that it is today. To elaborate, let us offer you the following scenario:
You are a fleet operations manager with a fleet of commercial vehicles, be it 1 to over 2,000, with a relative number of drivers to operate these commercial vehicles, which can be 9 metres long and 3.5 metres wide, mindful of these characteristics it isn’t hard to imagine the safety concerns both the fleet operator and driver may carry while fulfilling their job, such as, increased compliance and documentation, rising insurance costs and security to name a few.
Having shed some light on who we are, and where we are today, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t look at the road that led us to where CameraMatics is today. Built on the backs of two founders - Mervyn O’Callaghan and Simon Murray, the latter of which is a proud Monaghan native. For us having these connections and roots that tie us to County Monaghan is something we wear as a badge of pride.
Thinking about pride, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t look at CameraMatics history, founded in 2016, as ProVision, with a tethered past spanning over 20 years, building industry experience.
Mervyn & Simon started in 2004, a year remembered in Ireland for: taking the Triple Crown for the first time since 85, Mary McAleese getting re-elected as president and the then controversial indoor smoking ban, but for CameraMatics it’s remembered not only for these momentous occasions but also our founders establishing their first business – which provided them richer insights and an in-depth understanding of the fleet management sector.

In consideration of these factors, at CameraMatics we work to understand the specific needs of each fleet, to offer the best solution to match their needs. We have built a driver-centric cloud platform equipped to understand the pressures faced by the driver, meaning our technology has been designed to empower teams to become more agile, responsive, and continuously improve their performance through enhanced visibility, digitized smart processes and actionable insights.
Our high definition connected cameras offer a 360-degree birds-eye view of a commercial vehicle and provide full control, visibility and peace of mind to any fleet operator.
Through gaining these insights, they noted a few things missing in the market and after the sale of this first business in 2016, they conceived what would become CameraMatics, aware of the need for a move towards, driver consideration and empowerment enabled by connected video technology, which in our founders' eyes is an opportunity to trigger a revolution within the industry.
