Monaghan Poem

Hi everyone, I composed this poem late one ngiht at the end of April 2022.

Rather than having just another ‘after-dinner’ speech I decided a funny, smart wee ditty giving the full flavour of the real Monaghan would be more suitable for the occasion!

So now.. I invite all and sundry to enjoy this poem, share it with others and we’re actually thinking of running a competition for setting this poem to music as it really needs to be a song.

Just on another note.. Our Monaghan anthem from 2022 is currently a working progress and we will be launching it in full Monaghan voice later on this year so keep an eye on our social media pages.

‘‘Let This Be The Day’’ the winning anthem by Tim o Riordain from Cork will be performed Monaghan style in late Autumn.
