Emy Lough
Start this 4km loop around Emy Lough from the carpark, along minor roads and the lakeshore path, which will bring you back around. Emy Lough is popular with walkers, runners and families alike. It will take you approximately 45mins -1.5hours when walking and is suitable for all levels of fitness. Stop for a breather and admire the views on one of the benches dotted around the lake’s periphery. Take a dip in the lake, build sand castles at the ‘beach’ area and enjoy a picnic at one of the seating areas too. The lake historically supported the local flax mill, Emy Mill, throughout the last century. From the lake, you can visit nearby villages Mullan, Glaslough and Emyvale.
