We believed that the potential of the crafts people in County Monaghan and the environs were not being given their due recognition. We wanted to provide a “shop window” for their talent and their unique works. The time and effort that goes into creating each individual piece demands they are given an opportunity to showcase their incredible creations.
Collective at Market Square is housed in the wonderful historic building the Market House built in 1861 by the Bath Estate. It was sensitively redeveloped by Monaghan County Council and with funding support under Rural Econcomic Development Zone(REDZ) 2016 and the Town and Village Renewal Programme 2018. Housed in the same building as Collective at Market Sq is the world famous Carrickmacross Lace Gallery. Carrickmacross is a wonderful heritage town with The Workhouse just a few mins walk from Collective at Market Sq as is The Shirley Arms Hotel and the award winning Court House Restaurant.
Bespoke Designer Crafts
I was once a rug designer and producer and I have a passion for all forms of craft and art and this reflects on the range of products available at Collective at Market Sq. I visit all my stockists at their studios or workshop to gain knowledge on how the products are designed and made I can then pass this knowledge then onto customers.
