The Drumlin Giants
The Story So Far…
This is a truely unique experience for adults and children alike. A first of its kind anywhere in Ireland, the concept became a reality from the creative minds of Paul Bond and Marc Kelly. A small circle of very talented young Monaghan men made this all possible. With Rossmore as the setting and naturual backdrop this is indeed a stunning trail to walk. Each Giant has its own story (again from the pen and brain of Paul Bond) Download the app prior to your arrival and enjoy and be mesmerised by the mystical magical and sheer collosus of an exhibition. This is a must visit destination on your trip to Monaghan.

Can You Spot The Sleepy Drumlin Giants of Rossmore?
There are 11 Drumlin Giants in Rossmore Park, some visible and some invisible (pending creation). Aoife, Muireann, The Morrigan, Airmed, Thoth and Dian Cecht have yet to gain visibility and until then, enjoy finding the visible ones and learning their stories created by local writer Paul Bond.
As you drive in the main entrance of the park, you’ll see a sleeping Banba who is part land form and part hand sculpted. Banba was the queen of all the giants, she protected the other giants and everyone that came to the Park.
Another sleepy giant, Big Ross, sleeps under the playpark since he saved the children from the evil witch who lived in the forest. Walk around the Castle lake and you’ll meet Roddy den Drum at almost ten metres tall; he made all the lakes in the park with his giant hands.
You’ll spot Garaidh Den Drum with his spear too - in Irish, ‘Garaidh’ means ‘Spear Thrower’ and so he’s known by the others as ‘Spike’. Delve deeper into the forest and you’ll spot Dagda’s Cauldron of Plenty along the way too.
