Once upon a time , Fado, fado… this was the “Townhouse” of the Rossmore Estate, the Lords Westenra of Monaghan for generations.
They were a fine family and provided much employment in the area for generations. Mutual respect and loyalty was a hallmark of their tenure. When they tired of being in the big house, they would pack up their gear and come into town to have a little bit of a chillax and some fun!
The ballroom, which over the years had many a transformation, has now been respectfully restored to its (near) former glory.

Today, the hotel is the corner stone of the central Diamond plaza …smack bang in the centre of Monaghan town. With a stunning façade and beautifully appointed architectural detail, it how houses a multitude of locations to wine & dine, sing & dance.
The family run business (The McEnaneys) pride themselves on offering the best locally produced meals in stunning surroundings. Their recently opened (2019) cocktail bar can match the best in any other art of Ireland. Has to be seen to be believed … a Young Guns paradise!
